چکیده

Alternating current thin-film electroluminescent (ACTFEL) devices already occupy a segment of the largearea, high-resolution, flat-panel-display market. The AC-TFEL displays, which consist of a phosphor layer, such as manganese doped-zinc sulfide (ZnS:Mn), vertically sandwiched between two insulators that are contacted by electrodes, are robust, possess long lifetimes, and offer high luminance with relatively low power consumption [1], [2]. While fabrication of AC-TFEL devices has been the subject of considerable study over the past three decades, significant challenges remain. Development of multicolor displays with balanced red, green, and blue (RGB) emission has proven difficult as the most efficient red, green, and blue phosphors comprise different materials systems that require different deposition and annealing steps. Transparent AC-TFEL displays have recently been demonstrated by Sharp, Inc.; however, the processing of the phosphor to achieve transparency is difficult and has not yet been developed for phosphors other than ZnS:Mn [3].

Alternating current driven electroluminescence from ZnSe/ZnS:Mn/ZnS nanocrystals.

We present a novel technique for room temperature, solution-based fabrication of alternating current thin-film electroluminescent (AC-TFEL) devices using phosphor-doped nanocrystals. Synthesis for stable ZnSe/ZnS:Mn/ZnS nanocrystals that exhibit a quantum yield of 65 +/- 5% is outlined, and their electroluminescence is demonstrated in structures consisting of only wide band gap ceramic layers. ...

ARTICLES An investigation on photoluminescence and AC powder electroluminescence of ZnS:Cu,Cl,Mn,Te phosphor

ZnS:Cu,Cl,Mn,Te, which shows red AC powder electroluminescence (ACPEL) emission, was synthesized using a conventional wet synthesis and a sealed vessel method. The photoluminescence (PL) and ACPEL were characterized. After the second firing, 0.5 wt% tellurium (Te)-doped ZnS: Cu,Cl,Mn,Te phosphor shows almost red PL emission from the T1– A1 transition of Mn 21 ions, which are affected by the Te....

PHOTO AND ELECTROLUMINESCENCE STUDY PHOSPHOR PREPARED BY DIFFERENT METHODS OF ZNS:CU

ZnS : Cu phosphors were prepared by using laboratory grade chemicals through coprecipitating Cu along with ZnS using H2S and thiourea. Photo- and electroluminescence studies indicate that these phosphors have better emission characteristics compared to the phosphors in which activator is externally added. Phosphors with luminescence at ~530nrn were prepared. The difference between the character...

Auger quenching-based modulation of electroluminescence from ion-implanted silicon nanocrystals.

We describe high-speed control of light from silicon nanocrystals under electrical excitation. The nanocrystals are fabricated by the ion implantation of Si(+) in the 15 nm thick gate oxide of a field effect transistor at 6.5 keV. A characteristic read-peaked electroluminescence is obtained either by DC or AC gate excitation. However, AC gate excitation is found to have a frequency response tha...
